Get results in days, not monthsResults in days, not monthsMarketing for an equipment rental company is a handful of channels working together: search, maps, ads and a website that turns visits into quotes. This page explains each one, what it typically costs and how we would sequence them for a yard like yours.
What it is
Equipment rental marketing is everything you do to get contractors, plant managers and other renters to call your yard instead of the next one. For most companies today that starts online: a renter with a job searches for a machine and a city, compares a few yards, and calls the one that looks available, close and credible.
That makes marketing for an equipment rental company a question of being visible at that moment and convincing once they arrive. Visible means showing up in Google search results, the map listings and increasingly in AI answers. Convincing means a website with rates, availability and a fast way to ask, backed by reviews that say you deliver on time with clean machines.
The pieces below cover each part. The right mix depends on your fleet, your territory and how soon you need rentals.

Common mistakes
Start here
Most marketing fails because it starts with the exciting part. A sensible order is nearly always the same.
Traditional channels still matter: trade shows, referrals and your sales team's relationships. Digital marketing does not replace them. It makes sure that the contractor who has never heard of you can still find you.

All plans are month-to-month with no setup fee and no contract. Ad spend is separate and paid directly to the ad platform.
Two kinds of cost
Our management fee pays for the work: strategy, setup, building pages, optimizing campaigns, reporting and a dedicated account manager. Ad spend is what you pay Google, Microsoft or Meta when someone clicks an ad. That money goes straight to the platform and you control it. SEO and Maps plans have no per-click cost at all, which is why many equipment rental companies pair them with ads: ads for speed and SEO for steady inbound.
What moves the price is mostly scope: how many yards you run, how many equipment categories you want covered, how competitive your market is, how many ad platforms you use and whether you need a new website. A single-yard independent and a multi-branch fleet will not land on the same plan.
Seasonal calendar
| Time of year | What is happening | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Late winter | Contractors line up spring work and bid projects | Refresh profiles, publish size guides, check tracking and set the year's budgets |
| Spring | Site work and building ramp up; industrial maintenance shutdowns begin in some markets | Ramp up search ads on your core machines; make sure fleet and delivery pages are current |
| Summer | Peak construction activity | Push the categories that stay busiest, keep ad schedules tight to counter hours and collect reviews after each job |
| Fall | A rush to finish work before the weather turns | Watch availability closely, promote winter-ready equipment and plan next year's pages |
| Winter | Slower in cold regions for some categories | Fix the site, publish content, build links and reach past renters with off-season offers |
Seasons vary by region and by what you rent. Your own booking history is the best guide.
