Get results in days, not monthsResults in days, not monthsWhen a crew needs a lift by Monday, they search and call the first yard that looks right. Our managed Google Ads campaigns put you at the top of those searches, built around the machines you want to rent and the area you deliver to. Management is a flat monthly fee from $895, with no contracts.
Why search ads fit equipment rental
Renting equipment is a need-driven purchase. Contractors rarely browse; they search for a machine because a job demands it, and that is exactly where search ads appear. You show up for "skid steer rental" or "boom lift rental near me" and nothing else, and you only pay when someone clicks.
Ads are also the fastest lever. A new campaign can start producing calls soon after launch, and you can turn effort up or down as inventory, season and weather change. That makes them a natural partner for SEO, which builds more slowly but does not charge per click.
The flip side is that rental searches can be expensive and the chains advertise heavily. The answer is precision: spending where your fleet is strongest and your territory is closest, not bidding broadly on "equipment rental."
Structure
We organize campaigns around how you rent. Each equipment category gets its own campaign so budget follows the machines that earn the most. Ad groups split by size class and type, so someone searching for a telehandler sees an ad about telehandlers, not "equipment rental." Location targeting follows your delivery radius around each yard, and ad schedules follow your counter hours so calls arrive when someone can answer.
Every ad sends clicks to the page for that machine in that area, not to the home page, and every call and quote request is tracked so you can see which keywords bring real business.
Search terms
| Type of search | Example | How we handle it |
|---|---|---|
| Machine plus "rent" | mini excavator rental | Core target: this is a renter with a need. |
| Machine plus place | boom lift rental near me | Core target, matched to the nearest yard and delivery area. |
| Buying intent | used skid steer for sale | Excluded unless you also sell equipment. |
| Jobs and training | excavator operator jobs, forklift certification | Excluded with negative keywords. |
| Parts and manuals | boom lift manual, hydraulic hose | Excluded, to stop paying for people who are not renters. |
| Brand and model | Genie scissor lift rental | Bid on where you stock the brand, excluded where you do not. |
| Attachments and accessories | auger bit rental, bucket attachment rental | Handled in its own ad group if you rent them. |
Negative keywords are one of the biggest differences between a managed rental account and an unmanaged one.
Campaign structure
| Campaign | Ad groups | Landing page |
|---|---|---|
| Excavators and earthmoving | Mini, compact, standard, long-reach excavators; backhoe loaders; dozers | The excavator category page, or the page for the specific class |
| Skid steers and compact loaders | Skid steers, compact track loaders, mini loaders, attachments | The skid steer and compact loader pages |
| Aerial work platforms | Articulating boom lifts, telescopic boom lifts, scissor lifts by working height | The boom lift or scissor lift page for that height |
| Telehandlers and forklifts | Telehandlers by reach, rough-terrain forklifts, warehouse forklifts | The telehandler or forklift page |
| Compaction and concrete | Plate compactors, rollers, power trowels, saws, pumps | The matching category page |
| Power, lighting and pumps | Generators by size, light towers, compressors, dewatering pumps | The generator or pump page, with sizing guidance |
Budget follows revenue: the categories that earn the most get the most, not an even split. We shift spend between them as seasons and availability change.
Targeting and ads
Heavy equipment and small equipment need different targeting. A mini excavator delivered by trailer has a short realistic radius; a generator or plate compactor can serve a wider area. We set the radius from your real delivery costs and logistics, and we often split urban and suburban markets into separate campaigns because the equipment and the messaging differ.
Ads lead with the machine and the place ("60 ft boom lift rental in Tulsa"), then a differentiator such as same-day delivery, then a reason to call. We use location, call, callout and sitelink extensions, which add space without extra cost, and link your Google Business Profile for local trust. We bid conservatively at first, then move toward more automated bidding only once there is enough conversion data to support it.
The landing page matters as much as the ad. Each ad group goes to a page for that machine with a short quote form near the top, real photos of your fleet, specs and a tap-to-call number.

How it works
We set up tracking, landing pages, keywords, ads and your delivery targeting before a dollar is spent.
The campaign goes live and we review search terms often, adding negatives and tightening bids.
We put more budget behind the machines and areas bringing in rentals and test broader terms carefully.
As your fleet, season and competitors change, so do the campaigns, and you see it in the monthly report.

Questions
Our management fee is $895 a month for Google Ads alone, or $1,595 with a second platform, with no contracts. Ad spend is separate. How much to spend depends on your market, your rates and how many rentals you want. We start from your economics: what an average rental or a new account is worth, and how many leads become rentals. That sets a sensible maximum per lead and a monthly budget, and we go through it with you before launch.
We can pause or reduce categories when stock runs out, but we cannot see your inventory on our own. Tell us when a category sells out or comes back, and we adjust.
Not always. We start with your best categories and the pages you already have, and build new ones where a page would clearly improve results. See equipment rental SEO.
We cannot outspend them, so we do not try to. We focus on the machines you stock and the territory you cover, where an independent yard can be the better answer.
Once Google is working, a second platform can add reach. See equipment rental paid ads for how Bing, Meta and ChatGPT ads fit.
Many equipment rental companies do both. Ads give speed, SEO gives steady inbound without per-click costs. See equipment rental marketing for how they fit together.
